Dutch Quartet Performs Georgian Polyphony

On 24 March 2023, the Embassy hosted presentation of the Dutch Folk Quartet “KARTULI ANSAMBLI”.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Solomonia greeted the audience and emphasized the importance of the Georgian folk music in enriching the world cultural heritage.

Performance by “KARTULI ANSAMBLI” consisted of two parts. The quartet conducted by the Georgian folk musician, Ketavan Tsiklauri, performed traditional polyphonic tunes as well as the compositions by various artists.

In parallel with the musical section, Counsellor Huta Salia delivered a brief presentation on the Georgian folk music, its origins and historical development.

After the performance, the Embassy organized Georgian wine tasting.
